Description
A hawkfish is a small, carnivorous marine fish found in tropical coral reefs, known for its perching behavior on rocks and corals. Lacking a swim bladder, it uses its strong pectoral fins to “hop” between perches while watching for prey, which includes small fish and crustaceans. Hawkfish are ambush predators, striking quickly at unsuspecting prey, and are often territorial. Their vibrant colors and unique personalities make them popular in saltwater aquariums.
